What are the best skills to look for an intern?

Internships are a way to employ young people and allow them gain work experience even before finishing their studies. Yet, many are those employers who will argue that the most important skills to look for an intern are the knowledge and the skills in the field of the company’s expertise.

However, it is important to look also for other qualities, the so-called soft skills, such as communication, collaboration, time management, adaptability, critical thinking and initiative in order to have an intern that probably has more chances to be suitable in any kind of environment.

Even if these qualities may not be as easily spotted at a person as the technical skills, which can easily be included in a CV, interviews play a significant role into spotting them, since they can help evaluate interviewees’ personal and communication skills.
